Feb16

Ok, Just thought I would throw together a quick guide on how to hack the wii.

DO NOT SKIP ANY OF THESE STEPS UNLESS I TELL YOU TO!!!!

Supply List:

SD Card (2-8 gigs will work)
A Portable Hard Drive (160 gigs+, depending on the number of games you want to backup)
A Wii on system 4.2 or less. (Haven’t tried past 4.2 yet.)
Small amount of technical knowledge to get you through this.

If your Wii is already hacked and are looking to find out more about homebrew click here to go to the second part of my Wii Tutorial

Wii Hacking Part 2: Homebrew 1

Nov25

Introduction

Now that we have a fully hacked Wii we need to start adding the goodies. If you haven’t hacked your Wii yet start with the first post.

Part 1: Homebrew Browser
This is useful if you have a constant Internet connection.

Download the following file and place it in your SD cards apps folder.

Homebrew Browser

The browser will let you download and install many many homebrew apps with out having to search all over the net for the files. It also checks for updates for your apps you install.

If you wii is not online I will provide the files needed for the apps I use.

Part 2: WAD Manager

Step 1: Installing
If you deleted the wad manager from the first tutorial then down load it from here and put it in the apps folder on the SD card.

Step 2: Using Wad Manager
The software looks intimadating, even more so with the power it pocesses.

When you install a WAD you are writing directly to the Wii’s memory.
In doing so there are some dangers. The big one being bricks. I assume the best possible place to get bricks would be from installing WADs.

Part 3: Emulators

This is where you’re going to want the bigger SD Card. Having entire libraries of games on your Wii is going to take up space. So the bigger the card the better. I personally use a 8gb card and I keep all my Wad’s on it.

This will simply be copy and paste work. Once you know 1 just use the same method for the next.

NES

GameBoy/Advance

Sega Genesis

Part 4: USB Loader GX

USB Loader is the best way to play back ups of Wii discs on the wii. The best part? You don’t even need discs. Well except for when you install them.

Download the install from here.

Place the files in the apps folder on the SD card.

Part 5: NeoGamma
Use this if you you want to play gamecube games or don’t have a USB drive and have some blank DVD-Rs laying around.
